Shinde described Ahir as a versatile figure, likening him to the “Master Blaster” of politics and social service. He highlighted Ahir’s all-round capabilities and compared him to the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Shinde mentioned that Ahir was supported by their party, Shiv Sena, in 2019 and remains a committed member. He expressed satisfaction that another Shiv Sena leader, after Neelam Gorhe, has assumed this significant role. Shinde also lauded Ahir’s social contributions through initiatives like the Sankalp Pratishthan, aligning with the ethos of emphasizing social work over politics.
Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar acknowledged Ajit Pawar’s early recognition of Ahir’s leadership potential and the opportunities provided to him. She highlighted the strong personal bond between Ajit Pawar and Ahir, rooted in familial affection. Pawar commended Ahir’s leadership qualities and the responsibilities entrusted to him within the Nationalist Congress Party and later in the Shiv Sena.
Chairman Ram Shinde congratulated Sachin Ahir on his new role and drew a cricket analogy, urging Ahir to transition from being a batsman to an umpire in the legislative proceedings. He emphasized the importance of impartiality and fairness in conducting the House affairs, likening Ahir’s role to that of an umpire ensuring justice for all parties involved.
