Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi highlighted the key objectives of the ‘Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy-2026’, focusing on research and development, faster incentive delivery, and retaining investments within Gujarat. The policy aims to prepare the state for emerging industries and global competition. Sanghavi emphasized the collaboration between the government and entrepreneurs in building Gujarat’s industrial success.
Addressing industrialists at the policy launch in Gandhinagar, Sanghavi praised Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel’s efforts in addressing societal challenges and described the new policy as a strategy to strengthen Gujarat’s position as a leading manufacturing hub in India. He acknowledged Gujarat’s significant contributions to the national economy despite its smaller land area and population.
Sanghavi highlighted that Gujarat accounts for a substantial share of India’s manufacturing output and GDP, emphasizing the state’s role in cargo handling and exports. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Gujarat’s economic growth over the past two decades. The policy aims not only to create employment but also to build a robust industrial ecosystem within the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister underscored the importance of incentives in preparing Gujarat’s industries for future opportunities in sunrise sectors. He mentioned the government’s support for young entrepreneurs and the simplification of procedures to facilitate quicker implementation of assistance programs. Sanghavi also emphasized the policy’s focus on enhancing the speed of delivering incentives and promoting industrial research and development.
Sanghavi identified sectors like green energy, drone manufacturing, robotics, footwear, and toy manufacturing as having significant potential for Gujarat’s future growth. He expressed the state’s intention to lead in these industries and attract more investments. The government aims to streamline processes, resolve concerns about land availability, and promote coordination among departments to ensure the policy’s successful implementation.
