Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi visited flood-affected neighborhoods in Surat to oversee relief efforts following heavy rainfall that led to widespread waterlogging. Sanghavi inspected areas like Limbayat, Dindoli, and Saroli to evaluate the situation and interacted with affected residents, shopkeepers, and families to understand their needs.
During his visit, Sanghavi listened to the grievances of the affected individuals, assessed the extent of damage, and identified immediate requirements for assistance. He urged officials to expedite drainage, intensify cleaning operations, ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, and prioritize public health and sanitation in the affected regions.
In response to the challenges faced by the locals, the Deputy Chief Minister directed authorities to promptly deliver essential aid to the residents. He also instructed officials to provide financial support and household assistance to eligible families affected by the floods without delay.
Following the heavy rainfall that submerged parts of Surat, Sanghavi’s visit aimed to coordinate emergency response measures and support the city’s recovery efforts. The administration has been actively involved in water pumping, service restoration, and monitoring vulnerable areas to mitigate the impact of the flooding.
Accompanying Sanghavi during the inspection were MLA Sangeeta Patil, Surat Mayor Maya Mavani, Surat District In-charge Secretary Shalini Agrawal, Municipal Commissioner M. Nagarajan, Police Commissioner In-Charge Wabang Jamir, Standing Committee Chairman Rajan Patel, and officials from the Surat Municipal Corporation.
