Deputy Chief Minister and state Congress President D.K. Shivakumar stated that Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy relies on criticizing the Congress government for his political survival. Shivakumar emphasized that Kumaraswamy’s opposition is essential for his political existence, even though the Congress implements beneficial projects that face criticism. Responding to Kumaraswamy’s objections regarding the Bidadi township project, Shivakumar affirmed the project’s continuity from Kumaraswamy’s tenure and expressed readiness to face any challenges for the welfare of the people.
Shivakumar questioned Kumaraswamy’s failure to denotify the land allocated for the project during his term, highlighting the consequences of such actions. The Bidadi Project, also known as the Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT), spearheaded by Shivakumar, aims to establish a modern city near Bengaluru for residential and commercial purposes. Criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inflation, Shivakumar attributed the price rise to Modi’s international relations failures and urged practicality in addressing economic challenges.
Shivakumar defended the necessity of fuel usage in daily life, dismissing suggestions to curb gold purchases and other essential expenses. He acknowledged the economic hardships faced by the country and emphasized the impracticality of restricting basic necessities. Regarding Kerala’s new Chief Minister selection, Shivakumar congratulated the appointee and expressed support for the party’s decision-making process. He also acknowledged the political strategies of various parties, including the BJP and Janata Dal, in safeguarding their interests.
Shivakumar extended his best wishes to Kerala’s new Chief Minister and emphasized the party’s commitment to fulfilling the people’s expectations. He acknowledged the presence of Special Investment Regions (SIR) activities in Karnataka and highlighted the party’s awareness of such developments. Additionally, Shivakumar mentioned extending greetings to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and outlined the government’s initiatives, including the ‘Bhoomi Guarantee’ scheme for property documentation and facilitating the conversion of B-khata to A-khata properties.
