Development projects totaling Rs 97.36 crore in Ahmedabad’s Nikol area were recently launched, including a new 30-bed hospital. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Viratnagar Community Health Centre, was overseen by Gujarat BJP president and Nikol MLA Jagdish Vishwakarma.
Under the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, a total of 31 projects have been initiated. Vishwakarma highlighted the development model advocated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing its inclusive reach across society.
During the event, Vishwakarma criticized the Congress party for making election promises without fulfilling projects. He contrasted this with the BJP’s approach of not only laying foundation stones but also completing and inaugurating projects.
Among the showcased projects was a 30-bed hospital costing over Rs 10.91 crore, completed within 15 months. The facility, equipped with 11 super-speciality doctors, offers 43 free diagnostic tests, including sonography and X-ray services.
Vishwakarma mentioned over Rs 1,000 crore worth of development works in Nikol since he assumed office as MLA. Notable completed projects in the area include infrastructure developments like Vishwakarma Bridge, Laxman Bridge, and public spaces like Shabari Vatika and Lav-Kush Lake.
Plans for a modern e-library in Viratnagar were also announced during the event. Additionally, Vishwakarma disclosed the state government’s proposal for an advanced hospital in eastern Ahmedabad, with an estimated cost of Rs 700 crore.
