A series of meetings involving senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh in Madhya Pradesh has stirred political circles in the state. Singh met with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to discuss farmers’ issues, particularly related to wheat procurement. Yadav assured that over eight million metric tonnes of wheat procurement slots are booked, and the process is on track. Singh also invited Yadav to a religious event in Raghogarh later this month.
Later, Singh had a closed-door meeting with state party Chief Jitu Patwari at his residence, along with Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Singh. The purpose of this meeting remains undisclosed, leading to speculation. This meeting followed a recent exchange between Singh and Patwari regarding representation of certain communities within the Congress.
The interactions between Singh, Yadav, and Patwari are gaining significance as the Congress gears up for upcoming political events in Madhya Pradesh. Singh, having completed two terms in the Rajya Sabha, has indicated he will not seek re-election, although the Congress is yet to announce its candidate.
