Dayal Padmanabhan, the director of the upcoming period crime drama ‘Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku’ starring Vetri, announced that they are aiming to release the film on June 26 this year. Padmanabhan mentioned during a pre-release event that the film’s story is not related to the famous Lakshmikanthan murder case but is based on real-life events from 1972. The narrative follows a prisoner on death row as he reflects on his past before facing execution.
The film features Vetri as Arivumathi, Rangaraj Pandey as Sivanandham, Brigida as Mallika, and Saravanan as Sargunam, among other notable actors. The musical score by Darbuka Siva adds depth to the visuals, with acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaran having praised the team’s dedication after viewing select scenes. ‘Lakshmikanthan Kolai Vazhakku’ is produced by K.V. Sabareesh under 2M Cinemas, with Dayal Padmanabhan as the co-producer.
Directed by Dayal Padmanabhan, the screenplay and dialogues for the film are by Kavitha Bharathi and Padmanabhan himself. M V Paneerselvam handles cinematography, V Boopathi is in charge of editing, and Darbuka Siva is responsible for the music and background score.
