A tragic incident of double murder has occurred in Namapur village, Samastipur district, Bihar. The victims, identified as Prabhat Chaudhary and Sunny Kumar, were shot dead by a group of 8-10 unidentified assailants on bikes. The indiscriminate firing incident took place late Tuesday night, causing panic among the local residents.
The attack happened in a secluded area of Namapur village under the Chakmehsi police station jurisdiction. Both Prabhat Chaudhary and Sunny Kumar sustained fatal gunshot wounds and died at the scene. The assailants quickly fled the area under the cover of darkness before the arrival of local residents.
Prabhat Chaudhary, one of the deceased, had a history of involvement in criminal cases, including alleged illegal liquor smuggling and Arms Act violations. Authorities are investigating the possibility of the murders being related to disputes in the illicit liquor trade or local power struggles. The police are examining CCTV footage to identify and track down the attackers.
The father of Prabhat Chaudhary claimed that his son was lured out of the house through a phone call before the attack. Allegedly, Prabhat had left home for routine work but was tragically killed in the shooting incident. Police are gathering forensic and technical evidence, including CCTV footage, to apprehend the perpetrators as the investigation progresses.
