Two Ghanaian nationals, one Bangladeshi, and one Indian sustained injuries when two drones fell near Dubai International Airport. The Government of Dubai Media Office confirmed the incident, reporting minor injuries to the Ghanaians and Bangladeshi, and moderate injuries to the Indian. Despite the incident, air traffic at the airport continued as usual.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defence announced earlier that its air defenses were responding to missile attacks and drones from Iran. The Ministry urged the public to follow safety instructions provided by authorities. The retaliatory missile strikes by Iran in the UAE were in response to joint US-Israel strikes that commenced on February 28.

In recent events, the UAE’s air defenses intercepted nine ballistic missiles, with eight destroyed and one falling into the sea. Additionally, 35 unmanned aerial vehicles were detected, with 26 intercepted and nine landing within the country. The Ministry of Defence reported a total of 1,475 Iranian UAVs detected, of which 1,385 were intercepted and 90 landed within UAE territory.

The attacks resulted in casualties, including six deaths among various nationalities and injuries to 122 individuals from different countries. The UAE’s Ministry of Defence emphasized its preparedness to address threats and affirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security, sovereignty, and interests.
