Durban’s Super Giants (DSG) have brought in South Africa off-spinner Simon Harmer as a stand-in for West Indies all-rounder Sunil Narine before the start of Season Four. Harmer, who previously played for Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), returns to Kingsmead after a successful stint with the Proteas Test team, where he impressed with his bowling skills against Pakistan and India.
The 36-year-old Harmer’s recent form has been exceptional, highlighted by his standout performances in Test matches. He played a crucial role in South Africa’s victories over Pakistan and India, showcasing his talent by taking crucial wickets. Harmer’s remarkable bowling display against India, where he claimed 17 wickets at an impressive average, played a key role in South Africa’s Test series win.
Having previously featured for DSG in the SA20 season one, Harmer’s return to the team marks a significant addition to their squad. The Durban’s Super Giants, established in 2022 and owned by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, are gearing up for the upcoming season with Harmer joining their ranks.
