An early morning shooting in Bihar’s Begusarai district has left a 27-year-old man critically injured, causing panic among residents and prompting a significant police investigation. The incident took place in a lane in the Nagdah locality, behind Alka Cinema Hall, where motorcycle-borne assailants shot the young man. The victim, identified as Devraj alias Deva (27), suffered a gunshot wound to his face and was quickly taken to a private hospital in Begusarai.
He is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with his condition reported as critical. Devraj, the son of Jawahar Sah from Chandpura village in Khagaria district, was residing in a rented house in the Nagdah locality while managing a business. Following the shooting, authorities from Dial-112, the Town Police Station, Sadar-1 DSP Anand Kumar Pandey, and the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) arrived at the scene to secure evidence.
Begusarai Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish stated that scientific evidence was gathered during the investigation. The victim, in his statement to the police, identified Raja Kumar, Mantu Yadav, and Vipul Kumar as the accused. According to the victim, the three men had a confrontation with him over a previous dispute, leading to verbal abuse and physical assault, culminating in Mantu Yadav firing the shot that caused serious injury.
