In a significant breakthrough against vehicle theft and street crime, the East District Police apprehended an auto-lifter named Rohit alias ‘Pistol’ and recovered two stolen two-wheelers along with two stolen mobile phones. The arrest has led to the resolution of four theft cases reported across various police stations in Delhi.
Rohit, the accused, was captured by a team from Police Station Madhu Vihar following a targeted operation based on specific intelligence inputs. He has been found to be involved in multiple criminal cases related to robbery, snatching, and theft. The operation was part of the East District Police’s ongoing efforts to combat vehicle theft, snatching, and other street crimes.
A dedicated team, under the supervision of Inspector Sandeep Arya and the guidance of the ACP of Madhu Vihar Sub-Division, carried out the operation. The team, consisting of Head Constables Arun, Sachin Tyagi, and Neeraj, successfully executed the arrest. During a routine patrol in the Madhu Vihar area on June 16, the police received a tip-off from a reliable informer about an auto-lifter planning to sell a stolen scooter near Tarawati Hospital in Joshi Colony.
Acting swiftly on the information, the police set up a trap near the hospital and monitored the area. They intercepted a suspect riding a TVS N-Torq scooter without a registration number plate around 6.30 P.M. The suspect, identified as Rohit alias ‘Pistol’, was apprehended on the spot. Further investigations and questioning revealed his involvement in multiple theft cases and led to the recovery of additional stolen property.
