Eight Indian boxers have advanced to the finals in the Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships, with five women and three men securing their spots. In the U-23 Women’s category, Nisha, Nikita Chand, Kajal, Muskan, and Priyanka emerged victorious in their respective matches to secure final berths. Meanwhile, in the U-23 Men’s category, Vishvanath Suresh, Ganga, and Vanshaj displayed strong performances to reach the finals.
India also clinched seven bronze medals in the semifinals. Women boxers Tanu, Prachi, Shivani, and Naina secured bronze in the U-23 Women’s category, while Hitesh, Neeraj, and Ishan Kataria claimed bronze in the U-23 Men’s category. These results highlight India’s impressive performance and depth in both men’s and women’s divisions at the championship.
The Asian U-19 & U-23 Boxing Championships are currently taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from July 5 to July 16. India’s participation in the event follows recent successes in continental and global competitions, showcasing the country’s growing strength across various weight categories. The national camp’s focus on technical skills, strategy, and physical fitness has evidently paid off for the Indian boxing contingent.
