An elderly man was discovered dead in Kolkata under mysterious circumstances. Kolkata Police uncovered his body after forcibly entering his residence in the Amherst Street police station area. The man’s death, with him found without clothing on his lower body and no apparent injuries, has raised questions.
The deceased was identified as Amitabh Dey, aged 62, who resided alone in a two-story house on Chintamani Das Lane. Concerns arose when there was no response from him since Saturday morning. His nephew, Debashish Daw, alerted the police after unsuccessful attempts to contact Amitabh.
Upon reaching the scene, officers found the elderly man on the ground-floor living room floor without clothing on his lower body. Despite being rushed to Calcutta Medical College and Hospital, he was pronounced dead. The police, after an initial investigation, have not found any indications of foul play or a struggle. An unnatural death case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
