Election Commission revises voter list publication schedule in four states/UTs

The Election Commission of India has adjusted the timeline for Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab, and Delhi. The final publication of voter lists for Punjab and Telangana is now set for October 12, while for Delhi and Karnataka, it will be on October 19. The Election Commission has instructed the respective poll bodies to adhere to these new deadlines for the completion of the process.

The house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers in Punjab, which began on June 25, have been extended until August 3. The rationalization and re-arrangement of polling stations in the state will be finalized by August 3, with the draft publication scheduled for August 13. The period for filing claims and objections will run from August 13 to September 12, followed by the notice phase/disposal of claims and objections from August 13 to October 8. The final publication of electoral rolls in Punjab is now planned for October 12.

In Delhi, the house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers, commencing on June 30, have been prolonged until August 8. The rationalization and reorganization of polling stations will be completed by August 8, and the draft publication of the list is slated for August 17. The period for submitting claims and objections has been extended from August 17 to September 16, with the notice phase/disposal of claims and objections scheduled from August 17 to October 15. The final publication of electoral rolls in Delhi is now expected on October 19.

For Karnataka, the house-to-house visits by Booth Level Officers, which started on June 30, have also been extended until August 8. The rationalization and reorganization of polling stations will be finished by August 8, followed by the issuance of a draft publication on August 17. The period for filing claims and objections will be from August 17 to September 16, with the notice phase/disposal of claims and objections scheduled from August 17 to October 15. The final publication of electoral rolls in Karnataka is set for October 19.

In Telangana, the house-to-house visits by BLOs, initiated on June 25, have been extended until August 3. The rationalization and reorganization of polling stations will be completed by August 3, with the draft publication of lists set for August 10. The period for submitting claims and objections will be from August 10 to September 9, followed by the notice phase/disposal of claims and objections from August 10 to October 8. The final publication of electoral rolls in Telangana is scheduled for October 12.
