The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka is progressing well, with 99.38% of Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed statewide and over 61% digitized, as per the latest data from the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. In total, 5,50,87,922 Enumeration Forms have been distributed, covering almost all electors in the state. Notably, 54,149 polling stations have achieved full distribution of forms, while digitization stands at 61.35% of the total electorate.

On the digitization front, 3,40,10,283 forms have been digitized, representing over 61% of the total electorate in Karnataka. Some polling stations have completed 100% digitization, with many others surpassing the 90% mark. Additionally, 1.02% of electors have submitted their Enumeration Forms online. The revision exercise has highlighted various categories of electors needing further scrutiny, including those marked as ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate, or Otherwise) and those found untraceable or absent during verification.

Officials have identified electors who have permanently shifted residence, those who have passed away, and those already enrolled elsewhere. The ongoing house-to-house enumeration and digitization process, which began on June 30, will continue until August 8, 2026. Amid opposition from political parties, the Karnataka government has initiated a campaign to distribute free caste certificates and permanent residence certificates, with the Chief Minister emphasizing the importance of the permanent residence certificate for electoral roll inclusion.
