The Baku Malayalee Association organized the event named Kaniyum Kaineettavum, emphasizing unity through the festivities. Ambassador Abhay Kumar lauded the Association’s Silver Jubilee and the inclusive spirit of celebrating these diverse cultural occasions in Azerbaijan.
The event showcased a diverse array of live cultural performances and culminated in a traditional Keralam feast, as highlighted by the Embassy. Additionally, the Indian Association in Azerbaijan and the British School in Baku held an event in observance of Earth Day, with Ambassador Abhay Kumar attending as the Chief Guest. He commended the initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness among the youth.
During the festivities, Ambassador Abhay Kumar presented his Earth Anthem and distributed prizes to winners of essay and art competitions, as mentioned in the post. Furthermore, the Indian Embassy in Azerbaijan screened the film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ as part of the Bharat Filmotsav series under Baku Evenings, drawing a positive response from the young audience. The Embassy’s outreach program, Baku Evenings, regularly features movie screenings, yoga sessions, and language-related events to engage with the community. Moreover, an Open House session on Consular matters and welfare concerns was conducted at the Embassy premises, where Consular officials interacted with Indian community members to address various issues.
