An incident of enforced disappearance by Pakistani forces has been revealed in the Dasht-e-Ballangur area of Kech district, Balochistan province. The missing individual, identified as Imdad, was taken into custody at the Bilingur camp on Saturday and has not been seen since. His family has not received any information about his whereabouts yet.
Imdad’s younger brother, Mehran, also went missing after being detained by Pakistani forces in Turbat around three months ago, with no trace of him found so far. In a separate tragic event in the same region, an elderly farmer named Sheerdil was killed by Pakistan’s Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in Turbat.
The situation in Balochistan is deteriorating, with reports of killings and bodies being discovered in various areas. Families are enduring immense pain and suffering, especially during times that should be peaceful and unifying. Ordinary citizens lack protection and justice, as highlighted by the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC).
In another distressing occurrence, the body of a 21-year-old driver named Muhsin was recovered from the Paroom region in Panjgur district after being missing for 66 days. Muhsin was allegedly forcibly disappeared by FC personnel on March 16 from the Jeerak crossing point in Paroom and was later found dead.
The BYC has called for urgent attention from international human rights organizations and global bodies to address the escalating human rights crisis in Balochistan. They demand accountability for those responsible, justice for the affected families, and the protection and dignity of civilians.
