An engineering student, Vikas Tiwari, was fatally shot by unidentified robbers near Kachari Railway Station in Chhapra city, Bihar. Tiwari, a resident of Shakti Nagar, was returning home from Patna when the attackers tried to rob him of his belongings. Despite resisting, he was shot at close range, leading to his death at Sadar Hospital. The incident has sparked fear and outrage in the community over escalating criminal activities.
Local residents promptly assisted in taking the injured student to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, the Nagar Police Station initiated an investigation and is reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits. The district police have retrieved the body for post-mortem examination and registered a murder case under relevant sections of Bhartiya Nyay Sahita in Nagar police station.
In a separate incident in Purnea district, Bihar, a young businessman named Suraj Bihari was fatally shot during a panchayat meeting in Maranga police station area. Bihari, a 32-year-old warehouse owner from Gulabbagh, was shot multiple times, with the bullets striking his chest directly. The police have taken custody of the body for further examination at GMCH.
