England is set to kick off their men’s Ashes campaign against Australia at Trent Bridge on June 18 next year, while the women’s team will start their multi-format Ashes series from June 24. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) unveiled the complete schedule for the 2027 series.
The men’s team will commence the five-Test series at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on June 18, returning to a venue where they have recently triumphed against Australia in the Ashes. Following Trent Bridge, the series will progress to Lord’s, Edgbaston, and the Utilita Bowl, which will host a men’s Ashes Test for the first time, before wrapping up at The Kia Oval on July 29.
On the other hand, England Women will begin their campaign at Headingley on June 24, marking the first women’s Ashes Test in Leeds since 2001. The series will then proceed with three T20Is at various venues before transitioning to the ODI leg at the Utilita Bowl, Lord’s, and Edgbaston, with the final match scheduled for July 20.
The upcoming series between England and Australia is anticipated to hold added significance, especially after England Women shared points in the previous home Ashes series against Australia and faced off in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final earlier this year. Additionally, the ECB and Cricket Australia have agreed to host a four-day warm-up match between Australia and a full-strength England Lions side at Emirates Old Trafford from June 7 to 10.
Furthermore, the ECB confirmed that England’s men’s mixed disability team will also compete against Australia during the Ashes summer, with the match schedule to be announced later. ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould emphasized that the 2027 schedule underscores the prestige of the Ashes and the game’s continued growth across various formats.
