Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, and Liam Dawson led England to bowl out Scotland for 152 runs in 19.4 overs during the T20 World Cup 2026 Group C clash at the Eden Gardens. Scotland’s skipper Richie Berrington played a crucial innings, scoring 49 runs and forming a significant 71-run partnership with Tom Bruce to reach the final total.
Scotland’s innings began positively with Michael Jones aggressive in the powerplay, but the failure to convert good starts into big scores hurt them. Berrington’s 49 runs set the tone, supported by Bruce’s promising performance at the crease. However, Dawson dismissed Bruce, and Rashid’s lbw dismissal of Berrington triggered a collapse for Scotland from 113/3 to 127/8.
Despite a late effort by Oliver Davidson, Scotland couldn’t sustain partnerships to build substantial scores. England’s bowlers, including Archer (2-14), Rashid (3-36), and Dawson (2-34), controlled the game after an initial challenge. Sam Curran and Jamie Overton also chipped in with crucial wickets to keep Scotland in check.
