England’s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has announced the 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Harry Kane will lead the team, marking his third World Cup appearance, matching Billy Wright’s record from the 1950s. The squad selection was unveiled during a live show broadcast from Wembley Stadium through the official England app.
Among the players selected are Jordan Pickford, John Stones, and Marcus Rashford, each set to participate in their third World Cup. Additionally, Jordan Henderson will make his fourth appearance in the finals, equalling Sir Bobby Charlton’s record. Strikers Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins are also part of the squad, while Cole Palmer, despite previous achievements, did not make the cut due to injury setbacks.
Coach Tuchel expressed his excitement and privilege in naming the squad, emphasizing the players’ deserving spots. The team is set to convene at their prep camp in Palm Beach, Florida, from June 1, before heading to their tournament base in Kansas City on June 13. England’s World Cup journey begins on June 17 against Croatia at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold were notable exclusions from Tuchel’s final selection. The squad, which includes players from various clubs, will be completed by the arrival of Arsenal and Crystal Palace members involved in European club finals.
