English gymnast Gabriel Langton has been discharged from the hospital following a serious fall during the men’s team final at the Commonwealth Games, as confirmed by British Gymnastics. Langton suffered a head-first fall to the floor from a height of three meters after missing his catch on the horizontal metal bar. He received extensive treatment on the mat, leading to a delay in the event.
After the fall, Langton was taken away on a trolley with his head and neck supported on a stretcher. Fortunately, he was conscious and able to move his limbs before leaving the arena. British Gymnastics provided an update on Langton’s condition, stating that he has been cleared of any major injuries after undergoing scans at the hospital. The organization expressed gratitude for the support and medical care he received.
Despite the incident, Langton’s performance had contributed significantly to England’s position in the competition, helping them secure the silver medal. Canada emerged victorious with their first gold medal in the event in two decades. Although Langton couldn’t join his teammates on the podium initially, he later received his silver medal at the team hotel. Team England expressed delight at Langton’s return and medal presentation.
