Eugenio Chacarra, who has been performing well since March, shot a remarkable 6-under 65 to tie with Sebastian Soderberg for the lead at the 2026 KLM Open. Chacarra, a Spaniard aiming to break into the Top-10 of the DP World Tour to secure a spot in the PGA Tour for 2027, has accumulated a total of 10-under over 54 holes.
Chacarra, with a previous victory at the 2025 Hero Indian Open and a runner-up finish in 2026, has been consistent with three Top-10 finishes in his last seven events, including one on the Korn Ferry Tour. Currently ranked 19th on the Race to Dubai standings, he is eyeing a PGA Tour card, similar to Jordan Smith who secured the final card in 2025 from the 16th position.
During the tournament, Chacarra surged to the lead with four birdies on the back nine, while Söderberg, after a solid front nine, faced a bogey on the back nine. Despite a strong performance, Japan’s Yuto Katsuragawa slipped to shared fourth place at 8-under due to a double bogey on the 18th hole. Marcus Armitage from England secured the third spot with a score of 67. Unfortunately, India’s sole representative, Yuvraj Sandhu, missed the halfway cut.
As adverse weather conditions persisted, the second round concluded on Saturday morning, with 75 players making the cut for the weekend action.
