Former Deputy Chief Minister and MP Govind Karjol announced a major event to mark BJP Central Parliamentary Committee member B.S. Yediyurappa’s five decades in public life. The event, to be held in Chitradurga on May 9, will see Union Home Minister Amit Shah felicitating Yediyurappa. A grand reception with over 10 lakh attendees is scheduled for May 8, a day before the main event.

Former Chief Minister Yediyurappa’s contributions to public life, especially in advocating for farmers and social justice, will be recognized during the felicitation program. The event will witness the presence of various dignitaries, including heads of mutts, former chief ministers, and artists who have known Yediyurappa. Chitradurga was chosen as the venue due to its central location in Karnataka.

The event aims to honor Yediyurappa’s role in building and strengthening the BJP in the state. It is highlighted that Yediyurappa’s efforts have been instrumental in the party’s growth, distinguishing it as a people’s celebration. The groundbreaking ceremony for the felicitation event’s venue is set for April 26, initiating preparations for the program’s infrastructure.

BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra expressed that preparations are in progress to commemorate Yediyurappa’s 50-year political journey. The event is expected to draw supporters from all sections of society, emphasizing Yediyurappa’s significant contributions to Karnataka. The celebration will witness the participation of key leaders, including Prabhakar Kore, Govind Karjol, and B. Sriramulu, with the event logo already unveiled.
