Twisha Sharma’s family in Bhopal is seeking justice for their daughter who died shortly after her marriage. Ex-servicemen joined the cause, demanding a swift investigation into Twisha’s death, blaming her husband, Samarth Singh, and in-laws. The veterans organized a bike rally in Bhopal to highlight the ‘dowry death’ case that has sparked nationwide outrage.
They plan to meet with the Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, and the Governor to push for a CBI inquiry and ensure the culprits are brought to justice promptly. Twisha’s brother, Harshit, a serving officer in the Indian Armed Forces, expressed the challenges the family faces in seeking justice for their deceased daughter. He raised concerns about threats the family has received and questioned why Samarth Singh, the husband, remained absconding following Twisha’s death.
The case, where Twisha was found hanging at her marital home on May 12, has been ongoing for over a week. Allegations from Twisha’s family suggest mental harassment and physical abuse by her husband and in-laws, leading to her tragic decision. However, her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, a retired judge, claims Twisha’s death was a suicide and they were trying to manage her ‘hysterical’ behavior.
