Expelled AIADMK leader, O. Panneerselvam, is in discussions with actor-turned-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), regarding a potential alliance for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The main point of contention is the allocation of seats, with the OPS camp seeking 20 Assembly seats while TVK is willing to offer up to 15 seats.
The proposal for seat-sharing has evolved during negotiations, starting with a lower offer and later revised to 15 constituencies. Despite progress in talks, a final decision is pending from the OPS camp due to internal differences, causing a delay in response.
Supporters are divided, with some advocating for an alliance with the ruling DMK party for better electoral prospects, while others favor partnering with TVK to potentially secure more seats and negotiate preferred constituencies.
