At least three individuals, including two women, lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries in a powerful explosion that shook Hazaribagh city in Jharkhand. The incident, which occurred in Habib Nagar, led to chaos in the area as residents fled their homes following the loud blast. The deceased were identified as Mohammad Saddam, Nanhi Parveen, and Rashida, all residents of Habib Nagar.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victims were cleaning a piece of land near their residence when the explosion occurred suddenly. The impact of the blast caused fear among the nearby residents, prompting a large crowd to gather at the site to assess the situation. Upon receiving the alert, police and administrative teams swiftly responded to the scene.
Authorities transported the injured to Sadar Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced three individuals dead. While the police have verified the incident, the exact cause of the explosion remains uncertain. Investigators are exploring whether the blast resulted from an existing explosive device or other factors.
As a precautionary step, the area has been cordoned off, and a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been summoned to gather evidence. Security measures have been heightened in the vicinity to ensure public safety. Jharkhand’s IG, Operations, and police spokesperson, Michaelraj S., stated that the explosion claimed the lives of three individuals and that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that a conclusive determination regarding the blast’s origin will only be possible after the completion of the investigation. Meanwhile, local residents are gripped by a sense of apprehension.
