External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged with the Indian community representatives in Qatar, highlighting the significance of community welfare. He praised their dedication and contributions to Qatari society during challenging times, valuing their insights for enhancing the India-Qatar partnership.
Earlier, Jaishankar met with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha to discuss bilateral cooperation and explore avenues to strengthen the Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) stated that Jaishankar is on an official visit to Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman from July 5 to July 10. The visit aims to bolster relationships with these countries, engage with leadership, and address regional developments and mutual concerns.
Jaishankar’s itinerary includes launching India’s official campaign for the UN Security Council tenure 2028-29 in New York on July 13. Subsequently, he will participate in the 3rd India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) meeting in Brussels on July 14-15, interacting with EU and Belgian counterparts.
