External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar held discussions with Nepal’s ruling Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane in New Delhi. The talks centered on the India-Nepal development partnership and enhancing people-to-people ties. Jaishankar emphasized the significance of these ties in fostering growth and prosperity.
In a separate meeting, BJP National President Nitin Nabin engaged with the RSP delegation, providing insights into the party’s ideological foundations and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model. Nabin welcomed the delegation as part of the ‘Know BJP’ initiative, shedding light on the party’s organizational structure and its public engagement strategies.
During the interaction, Nabin highlighted the essential role of BJP workers at all levels, from national to booth level, in maintaining direct contact with citizens and addressing grassroots issues. The discussion also touched upon the impact of Generation Z in politics and the role of young individuals in shaping democratic participation and future leadership.
Both sides underscored the deep-rooted historical ties between India and Nepal, emphasizing the shared civilizational heritage, cultural bonds, and strong people-to-people connections. Nabin stressed the importance of such dialogues in strengthening democratic engagement and fostering closer ties between political parties of the two neighboring nations.
As part of their visit, the Nepalese delegation visited the BJP Media Centre and Central Library to gain insights into the party’s communication and knowledge management systems. The interaction concluded with a lunch meeting attended by prominent BJP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Members of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, and Praveen Khandelwal, along with Union Minister of State and Delhi BJP chief Harsh Malhotra.
