External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to embark on an official trip to Mongolia and the Republic of Korea from June 22 to 25. The visit aims to enhance India’s bilateral partnerships and promote cooperation in strategic, economic, and technological fields.
During his visit, Jaishankar will first travel to Mongolia on June 22 and 23. He is scheduled to meet with Mongolian leadership and engage in discussions with Foreign Minister B Battsetseg. Subsequently, he will proceed to South Korea on June 24 and 25.
In Mongolia, the focus will be on assessing bilateral cooperation and reinforcing the enduring relationship between the two nations. India and Mongolia share strong ties based on cultural, spiritual, and democratic values, with diplomatic relations dating back to December 24, 1955.
In South Korea, discussions are anticipated to center on advancing the India-Republic of Korea Joint Strategic Vision road map, building on the state visit of South Korean President Lee Jae Myung to India in April 2026. Areas of collaboration may include semiconductors, Artificial Intelligence, critical minerals, and emerging technologies.
The visit is expected to invigorate the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Seoul, while also strengthening India’s involvement with key partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
