Violence against civilians persists in Balochistan, with reports of two civilians killed and six others missing at the hands of Pakistani forces. The body of shepherd Zulfaqar, missing for nearly two months, was discovered in the Panjgur district. Another shepherd, Shahram, was killed in a separate incident, allegedly in an encounter.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee highlighted these incidents as part of a troubling trend of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in Balochistan. Families are left in distress as their loved ones go missing and are later found dead under unclear circumstances. The situation has raised concerns about crimes against humanity in the region.
The Baloch National Movement’s Human Rights Department revealed the forced disappearance of four youths, including a minor, in Gwadar district. Additionally, a student named Ikram was reported missing in the Kech district. The targeting of students and a young artist, Muhammad Taj, has sparked concerns about human rights violations and shrinking space for cultural expression in Balochistan.
