The plan to align Lashkar-e-Taiba and Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) against the Balochistan Nationalist Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly failed. The Pakistan army and ISI’s strategy to unite these groups to combat BLA and TTP challenges did not succeed.
In response to the failed plan, the BLA launched attacks in Quetta under “Operation Herof Phase 2,” lasting over 40 hours. The BLA claimed to have killed 200 Pakistani security personnel, although the numbers remain unverified.
Despite efforts to bring ISKP and Lashkar-e-Taiba together, they were unable to overpower BLA fighters. This setback has left the Pakistan establishment embarrassed following the intense attacks by BLA forces.
