Police in Nalgonda town, Telangana, have resolved a shocking murder case involving four family members by apprehending four suspects on Friday. The prime accused, along with his wife, a friend, and a jeweler, allegedly conspired to commit the crime due to personal animosity, financial troubles, and the desire to steal cash and gold items. Using CCTV footage, technical evidence, and scientific methods, the police swiftly cracked the case within three days, as stated by Nalgonda district Superintendent of Police Sharat Chandra Pawar.
The bodies of Mohammed Sultan (45), his wife Haseena (38), their son Muzammil (20), and daughter Apsara (14) were discovered in a decomposed state on June 22 at their residence in Telangana Colony, Nalgonda town. Investigations revealed that a relative of the victims, Syed Aslam, brutally murdered the family on June 20. His wife, Tabassum, and two others, Sohail and Hemanth Kumar, were also arrested for their alleged involvement.
Haseena had previously lent Rs 1 lakh to her sister’s daughter, Tabassum, and Aslam. When Aslam requested another loan, Haseena declined, leading to a grudge that escalated into a deadly plot. Aslam, influenced by YouTube videos, ambushed the family on June 20, attacking them outside their home. He mercilessly killed Haseena, Sultan, Muzammil, and even 14-year-old Apsara, who tried to hide but was tragically slain.
After the murders, the accused looted cash and jewelry from the house before fleeing. The victims’ bodies were discovered following complaints from neighbors about a foul odor emanating from the residence. Initially deemed a suicide case, post-mortem examinations confirmed the family’s murder. Through thorough investigation and interrogations, the police arrested Aslam, his wife, and two accomplices, recovering incriminating evidence from them.
A Mahindra Marazzo car, Rs 30.04 lakh in cash, melted gold, a murder weapon, mobile phones, blood-stained clothes, and various documents were seized from the accused. Subsequently, all suspects were presented before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
