Four members of a family from Banaskantha district lost their lives, and four others were injured in a tragic accident in Gujarat’s Junagadh district. The incident occurred when the Ertiga car they were traveling in collided with a stationary truck on a four-lane road near Majevadi village. Two of the injured individuals are in critical condition, while a child in the vehicle survived the crash.
The family, residents of Tharad taluka in Banaskantha district, was en route to Somnath for an ash immersion ceremony when the accident happened on the new bypass highway near Majevadi village. The collision was severe, leading to the complete destruction of the front part of the car. Four occupants of the vehicle passed away at the scene, and four others sustained injuries.
Local police and emergency services responded promptly to the crash, providing initial treatment to the injured before transferring them to Junagadh Civil Hospital for further medical attention. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, including why the truck was stationary on the road. The bodies of the deceased were recovered from the wreckage and sent for post-mortem examination at Junagadh Civil Hospital.
The tragic incident has plunged the victims’ families into mourning.
