A day after Dilip Ghosh became a Minister in the new West Bengal government, his mother and sister appealed for justice for a post-graduate trainee doctor who was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in 2024. Ghosh’s sister, Subhashini Paria, expressed hope that her brother would focus on the state, particularly the Jungle Mahal area. She also urged the new government to ensure justice for the victim known as ‘Abhaya.’
Dilip Ghosh’s mother, Pushpalata Ghosh, expressed joy over her son’s appointment to the BJP Cabinet in West Bengal. She believed that Ghosh would diligently fulfill his responsibilities and commitments to the people. Pushpalata Ghosh emphasized the importance of justice for ‘Abhaya’ and her family, urging the government to prioritize safety and security for women in the state.
Minister Dilip Ghosh received a warm welcome at his residence in Kharagpur. Suvendu Adhikari was sworn in as the ninth Chief Minister of West Bengal, accompanied by five other Ministers, including Dilip Ghosh. Adhikari is set to conduct meetings with top officials and District Magistrates to review administration and address key issues, including women’s safety.
