Family members of a young woman, who reportedly died by suicide, protested with her body outside her lover’s house in Telangana’s Sangareddy district. They accused her lover, S. Srikanth, of murder and staged the protest in Manik Naik Tanda. The woman, V. Kaveri, 23, from Sirgapoor mandal, was in a relationship with Srikanth, facing opposition from their parents for marriage.
Due to familial objections, the couple moved to Hyderabad and lived together in LB Nagar. Tragically, Kaveri passed away, allegedly by hanging, following disputes with Srikanth. While the police believed it was suicide, Kaveri’s family claimed it was murder. Consequently, they filed a complaint, prompting an investigation and a protest at Srikanth’s residence for justice.
Amid rising tensions, police deployed forces in the village to prevent any disturbances. Village elders attempted to mediate a resolution between the two families. In a separate incident in Hyderabad, a 10th-grade student, Arvind, died by suicide after being reprimanded by his father for neglecting studies. The incident took place under the Domalguda Police Station’s jurisdiction, with the police initiating an investigation into the matter.
