Eight days after the death of former model Twisha Sharma in Bhopal, her family is holding off on performing the last rites as they seek a CBI probe due to post-mortem concerns. The police are intensifying the investigation into her alleged suicide, focusing on locating her missing husband, Samarth Singh.
Twisha’s father has raised concerns about the accused family’s influence, alleging pressure on the system. He emphasized the need for an impartial inquiry outside Madhya Pradesh and a second post-mortem at AIIMS Delhi. The deceased’s family remains reluctant to proceed with the final rites.
Giribala Singh, Twisha’s mother-in-law, has countered with fresh allegations against the deceased, questioning her lifestyle choices and freedom. She accused Twisha of neglecting household duties and leaving without informing the family. Giribala has expressed willingness for a second post-mortem and an investigation by any agency.
Twisha Sharma was discovered hanging at her marital home on May 12, following which her husband, Samarth Singh, has been on the run. The police have issued a lookout notice for him and are taking steps to revoke his passport.
