In the latest development of the fan murder case, the Kamakshipalya police are investigating the alleged intimidation of a key prosecution witness. Three arrested individuals, Puneeth, Venu, and Suhas, are accused of threatening Sandeep, a crucial witness in the case, to influence the investigation.
The accused, along with Gaurav and Kiran Reddy, reportedly made WhatsApp calls to Sandeep, pressuring him not to cooperate with investigators. Gaurav and Kiran Reddy, who were in contact with Puneeth before his arrest, are now absconding. Police are actively searching for them.
Additionally, another bar owner from Sanjaynagar is identified as a suspect in the witness intimidation case and is currently on the run. Authorities are working to locate him as part of the ongoing investigation.
Police have found connections between the accused and influential individuals, including a bar owner allegedly linked to a member of jailed actor Darshan’s family. The investigation aims to determine if these contacts played a role in attempting to influence the witness.
To verify the digital evidence, the police have seized the suspects’ mobile phones for forensic analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL). The FSL report is expected to reveal crucial information from WhatsApp calls and messages, aiding in understanding each accused’s involvement and potential collaboration with others in the alleged conspiracy.
The investigation into the witness intimidation case is ongoing, with the likelihood of more arrests as additional evidence surfaces. This development is significant in the broader inquiry into the fan murder case involving Kannada superstar Darshan Thoogudeepa.
