Football enthusiasts in India are eagerly anticipating the FIFA World Cup 2026, despite the absence of the national team in the tournament. The event, featuring 48 teams, will kick off on June 12, with matches broadcast on Zee Network and DD Sports. Viewers can catch the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at 00:30 IST on June 12, followed by other matches at various times.

The FIFA World Cup 2026, hosted jointly by Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America, will showcase a total of 104 matches in an expanded format. The tournament will introduce 12 groups of four teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage. This new structure includes a Round of 32 before the traditional Round of 16.

Indian fans faced uncertainty regarding the broadcast of the tournament, but now they can watch the matches on the newly launched Unite8 Sports network. Four channels will provide coverage with Hindi and English commentary options. DD Sports will also air select matches for free, including the opener between Mexico and South Africa, as well as the quarterfinals, semifinals, and final on DD Free Dish.

For live streaming of all FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in India, fans can access the Zee5 app on mobile devices, laptops, or smart TVs. The tournament will feature exciting matchups across various groups, adding to the anticipation and excitement among football enthusiasts in the country.
