A farmer in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, was critically injured in a shooting incident on Saturday morning. The accused, identified as Ramnarayan Patel, shot the victim, Dharmendra Raikwar, in the abdomen with a country-made pistol. The incident took place in Khamdehi village under Patan police station limits.
Raikwar was watering the premises near a community center when Patel, arriving on a motorcycle, confronted him. An argument ensued between the two, leading to Patel firing at Raikwar. The victim was quickly taken to Patan Health Centre and later referred to Jabalpur Medical College due to the severity of his injuries.
Police investigations revealed that the shooting was likely a result of an old dispute between Raikwar and laborers working on Patel’s farm. The authorities have registered a case of attempted murder and are actively searching for the absconding accused. Security has been heightened in Khamdehi village to prevent any further escalation.
