The victims, who were returning from an IPL match, were declared ‘brought dead’ at a nearby hospital.
The deceased were identified as Yagya Bhatia, a 20-year-old BSc student, and Abhav Bhatia, a 14-year-old school student, both residents of Ashok Nagar in Delhi and cousins. Abhav had assured his father of his imminent return home just moments before the tragic accident took place. Authorities are investigating the incident as a potential hit-and-run case, with CCTV footage being scrutinized for clues.
A District Crime Team of the Delhi Police conducted a forensic examination at the accident site to piece together the events leading to the collision. The bodies were later moved to the mortuary of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for further procedures.
