A tragic hit-and-run incident in New Delhi’s Parliament Street area resulted in the deaths of a 20-year-old and a 14-year-old. The collision, which occurred late at night, involved a motorcycle and a goods carrier at the Mahadev Road T-point on Ashoka Road. The victims, who were returning from an IPL match, were declared ‘brought dead’ at a nearby hospital.

The deceased were identified as Yagya Bhatia, a 20-year-old BSc student, and Abhav Bhatia, a 14-year-old school student, both residents of Ashok Nagar in Delhi and cousins. Abhav had assured his father of his imminent return home just moments before the tragic accident took place. Authorities are investigating the incident as a potential hit-and-run case, with CCTV footage being scrutinized for clues.

A District Crime Team of the Delhi Police conducted a forensic examination at the accident site to piece together the events leading to the collision. The bodies were later moved to the mortuary of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for further procedures. Police have registered a case based on an eyewitness statement and are actively searching for the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.

Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the driver responsible for the fatal hit-and-run. The families of the victims have been notified, and investigations are ongoing to uncover all details surrounding the tragic incident. Authorities are diligently examining all aspects of the case, with more information expected to emerge as the investigation progresses.
