A tragic road accident on National Highway-25 near Sarwadi village in Balotra district of Rajasthan resulted in the loss of six lives and left numerous others seriously injured. The incident took place at around 4 p.m. when a sleeper bus collided head-on with a trailer while attempting to overtake. The bus, en route from Jodhpur to Sanchore, was trying to pass two vehicles when it crashed into the oncoming trailer.
The collision was severe, particularly impacting the driver’s side of the bus, leading to extensive damage. Blood was visible inside the vehicle, and multiple individuals were trapped. Among the deceased were two young brothers aged 3 and 6, identified as Shivraj and Yuvraj, sons of Dharuram from Bagoda (Jalore). The injured were promptly rescued by the police and passengers, with nine individuals receiving medical attention.
Following the accident, nine injured individuals were attended to at Balotra Hospital, with four critically wounded passengers being transferred to Jodhpur for specialized treatment. Meanwhile, five others are receiving care at Kalyanpur Community Health Centre. The bodies of the deceased were taken to Nahata Hospital in Balotra for identification and postmortem examination. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions on the highway, necessitating police intervention to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow.
Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal expressed sorrow over the tragic event in a social media post, offering prayers for the departed souls and a swift recovery for the injured. An investigation has been launched by the authorities to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
