The video captured Siya, the main accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, being escorted by the police from her residence in Pune’s Market Yard area.
Wearing a black T-shirt with a scarf covering her face, Siya glanced at the reporters outside before making the gesture. Praveen Goyal, in a video statement, refuted the claims, stating that Siya’s fingers were injured in a car door accident during the police visit, leading to one finger being bandaged and the other swollen with blue nails.
Following the video’s circulation and online backlash, many criticized Siya’s actions as insensitive given the serious charges against her. Responding to the social media accusations, Praveen Goyal defended his daughter’s innocence, urging people to verify the incident with the police who were present during the legal formalities.
The police investigation revealed that Siya Goyal and her alleged partner, Chetan Chaudhary, were involved in a conspiracy to murder businessman Ketan Agarwal by pushing him into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18. Initially, Siya claimed Ketan’s death was accidental, but inconsistencies in her statements led to murder and conspiracy charges against her and Chetan.
