Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is set to unveil a new project, ‘Khana Dil Se,’ a unique AI-driven cooking show that delves into India’s culinary heritage. The series, in collaboration with True Story Films and Collective Studios, explores the country’s diverse kitchen traditions through the lens of artificial intelligence. ‘Khana Dil Se’ represents Mehta’s return to the culinary domain where he initially gained recognition.

The teaser for the show offers a glimpse into an episodic journey that uses AI to narrate India’s rich food culture. Mehta, known for creating the iconic cookery show ‘Khana Khazana’ in the 1990s, now ventures back into the world of food with AI as a storytelling partner. The series also features Indian Master Chef Shamsher Ahmed as a culinary expert.

‘Khana Dil Se’ aims to showcase India’s cultural tapestry through its kitchens, exploring narratives of migration, memory, and identity embedded in age-old recipes. The use of AI goes beyond visual enhancement, becoming an integral part of the storytelling process. Mehta emphasizes the significance of food as a carrier of memories and histories that transcend borders and generations.

Producer Sahil Saigal, a restaurateur, highlights the show’s innovative approach in integrating AI into food television to unearth undocumented culinary traditions across India. Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and Group CEO of Collective Artists Network, underscores the importance of leveraging technology to unveil India’s culinary heritage in a novel way. ‘Khana Dil Se’ is a pioneering series that merges culinary legacy with artificial intelligence to narrate India’s story through its diverse cuisines.
