As 2025 draws to a close, filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi, known for the film “Love in Vietnam,” which garnered acclaim across Asia, expressed his reflections on the year. Kazmi emphasized the profound impact of connecting with audiences from different cultures, stating that such experiences humble him more than any accolades received. He highlighted the significance of authenticity in storytelling amidst a world where loudness often overshadows sincerity.

The film “Love in Vietnam” received notable recognition in South Korea, securing awards such as Best Asian Film and Best Director for Kazmi. It also found success in China, where it enjoyed a wide release, and in Vietnam, where it captivated audiences at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival with its cross-cultural narrative. Kazmi underscored the enduring power of honest storytelling, emphasizing that true emotions can transcend boundaries without the need for grand gestures.

Reflecting on the lessons learned in 2025, Kazmi expressed a heightened sense of responsibility as a filmmaker, particularly when narratives transcend geographical borders. He articulated his aspiration to create films with lasting impact, focusing on stories that resonate with viewers long after their initial release. Kazmi concluded by emphasizing the importance of authenticity over commercial success, noting that genuine storytelling has a unique ability to resonate with audiences worldwide.
