A significant fire erupted at a commercial complex close to the iconic Charminar in Hyderabad. The incident started in a garment shop and then spread to neighboring shops within the SYJ Complex at Pathergatti near Madina Crossroads. Eight fire engines and personnel from five fire stations swiftly responded to the scene to combat the blaze. After two hours of intense efforts, the fire was brought under control by the fire services team and police.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Charminar Zone) Kiran Khare and other senior officials oversaw the firefighting operation, successfully preventing the fire from engulfing other shops. Although three shops were destroyed by the fire, fortunately, no casualties were reported as the fire broke out before the shops opened for the day. The complex houses various shops, banks, and diagnostic centers. The cause of the fire remains unknown, with ongoing investigations by the police.
This incident occurred a year after a tragic fire in the same vicinity resulted in the loss of 17 lives from a pearl trader’s family. Additionally, in a separate event, five shops were ravaged by a fire in Telangana’s Nagarkurnool district late at night. The fire, attributed to a short circuit, consumed five shops, a motorbike, and other property near Anjaneyaswamy temple in Maddimadugu, Padara mandal.
Furthermore, a massive fire broke out on the outskirts of Guntur in neighboring Andhra Pradesh at Teachers’ Colony near Inner Ring Road. The fire originated from pipelines associated with underground drainage works, causing panic among residents due to massive flames and dense smoke. Firefighters and police were promptly dispatched to the scene to extinguish the fire. Locals mentioned that the pipelines had been lying there for an extended period due to a legal dispute regarding underground drainage works, with a heap of garbage accumulated nearby.
