A fire incident occurred at a labour camp in Sector 126 of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, early Tuesday morning. Fire and police teams swiftly responded to the situation. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries despite initial fears of people being trapped inside the building.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar Chaubey stated that the fire alert was received around 6:20 a.m. from the labour camp situated in the Raipur area of Sector 126. Upon receiving the information, police and fire brigade teams rushed to the scene to initiate firefighting operations.
The labour camp, a G+1 structure, housed around 50 to 60 workers. Following reports of people possibly being trapped, firefighters promptly conducted rescue and firefighting operations to ensure the safety of the occupants.
The fire, believed to have been caused by a gas leak, was contained before spreading further. All residents were successfully evacuated from the premises. Initial investigations suggest that a gas leak might have been the trigger, with a detailed inquiry underway to determine the exact cause.
The incident occurred shortly after a tragic fire incident in Lucknow’s Aliganj area, claiming 18 lives. Most of the victims, aged between 20 and 24, have been identified. Two individuals, Lavpreet and Jayant, who sustained injuries, are currently receiving treatment at King George’s Medical University.
