Panic struck a residential area in Ghaziabad when a fire erupted in a house near the Police Lines in Pratap Nagar, reportedly caused by a gas cylinder blast. An elderly woman suffered minor burn injuries in the incident and was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, managing to control the blaze before it could escalate.
The Fire Department received information about the fire around 11:33 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, fire officials discovered that the fire originated from a gas cylinder inside a room on the ground floor of the house. Utilizing hose pipes and reels, firefighters extinguished the flames after a concentrated effort.
The elderly woman, identified as Vimala Devi, approximately 80 years old, sustained minor burn injuries and was hospitalized for medical care. Fortunately, the quick action of the fire service prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the house, averting a potential major disaster. Authorities are conducting further investigations and necessary actions related to the incident.
This incident follows a recent fire on June 30 in the Adarsh Nagar Colony of Khoda, Ghaziabad, triggered by a transformer catching fire. Firefighters, along with police personnel, successfully controlled the blaze, which had the potential to cause significant damage.
