A firing and robbery attempt at a government liquor shop in Delhi’s Paharganj market resulted in two staff members being attacked. The miscreants shot at and stabbed the staff during the incident. The robbers, armed with guns and knives, tried to loot the shop but were stopped by a vigilant Delhi Police beat constable.
Both culprits were captured by the police after a dramatic late-night chase. The injured salesmen were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused entered the shop with the intent to commit robbery. One of them fired four rounds, injuring a salesman, while the other attacked a different salesman with a knife.
The robbers managed to steal a wallet containing cash and important documents before fleeing the scene. Following the incident, crime and FSL teams collected forensic evidence from the crime scene. Multiple police teams successfully tracked down the armed robbers within 24 hours, apprehending them after a daring motorcycle chase in the Sahibabad area.
The CCTV footage of the robbery attempt captured the suspects’ actions, helping in their identification. Two suspects were seen in the footage, one in an orange Swiggy T-shirt and the other in a black T-shirt. The cameras recorded their escape towards the Nabi Karim area. Further scrutiny of the CCTV footage revealed that one of the accused had visited the shop earlier that day and made a digital payment via UPI, which played a crucial role in their identification.
